Caring Closet UPDATE 3/30/24

Our most successful progress to date!

We could not have worked hard this weekend without the help of friends who are in NHS, JAG, Student Council, Cheerleading, and a fellow TCSD staff member!

Things accomplished:  

•  Prom dress racks and other furniture were put together

• Hauled trash and moved items to make more room for Prom dresses

• Meadow and her friend folded, organized by size, and sorted through NUMEROUS clothes while creating piles to donate to the community and the clothing closet at TCMS. They also organized the Prom dresses (again). So far 13 girls have been able to get a Prom Dress , Meadow included!

• A TCSD Staff Member put together MANY hygiene bags for students with the supplies donated so they are available and ready as a grab-and-go bags

Here is a current list of what is needed:

1. Hangers - If you have hangers with eye hooks on them we will take them for Prom dresses and to hang up men's dress shirts and ties as well.

2. Men's Clothing of all Sizes - New or gently used would be great. Packages of Men's underwear and socks would be greatly appreciated.

3. Non-perishable food items and hygiene products - Meadow can always use these items.

4. Travel Size Hygiene Products - these work great as grab-and-go items.

5. Combs and Hairbrushes - These are much needed.

6. Prom Shoes - If you have some to donate we will take them in all sizes.

7. Women's Packaged Underwear - All sizes.

8. Towels - Hand and Bath Towels.

9. Anything on Meadow's Amazon Wish List - We still need more dress racks and a few more shelves to house clothing.

10. Monetary Donations - Will be used to purchase all of the above items.

Meadow was gifted $200 this past week that she spent on Men's Clothing.

Hi Everyone – My name is Meadow Reinders and I am a 9th grader at TCHS. I am working on my Gold Project for Girls Scouts which is the highest award I can achieve. My project is revamping/reorganizing our clothing closet (which will include hygiene and pantry items also). My project is called “The Caring Closet” and it needs some items. I am asking for donations of the following items:

• women’s and men’s clothing (sizes small and up)

• underwear (including bras and sports bras)

• socks

• lightly used or brand-new shoes (adult sizes)

• monetary donations to purchase racks/shelves to organize the clothing, supplies to make a changing room, and clothing items

• hygiene products

• nonperishable food items
